At an Ordinary Council meeting that took place on Monday, 11 October 2010; the Council has in terms of Council resolution number S02/10/2009 reconsidered the appointment of the Acting Municipal Manager, Mr. SJ Weber. The Council further resolved to appoint Mr. BSS Riba as Acting Municipal Manager with immediate effect until the end of the current term of Council.

As the head of administration and the accounting office of the municipality, the municipal manager is responsible and accuntable for and performs the following functions, that are detailed in the job description:
The Municipal Manager provides leadership and direction of the municipal’s direction through efective strategies to fulfill objectives of local government provided for in the Constitution, 1996 and any other legislative framework that governs local government.
